TERMLY NEWSLETTER – SUMMER TERM
Welcome to our first newsletter of the year. It is our aim to write one termly, keeping you updated with any changes and developments at Woody’s, or any new information we may have for you.
Firstly, we wanted to let you know that we will be issuing a letter shortly, to all children regarding the viability of us holding a holiday club here at Woody’s. If we receive a positive response, then we will endeavour to apply to the council for a license.
You might have noticed that we have started to give out small exercise books to the children. These are ‘communication books’, and are a way to ensure that all settings, children and parents/carers involved can openly communicate with each other. Some children attend Woody’s, school, child minders, grand parents homes etc, and we feel that this book would be an excellent way for us all to keep up to date with what’s going on with the children’s day to day activities. Anyone can write in the books, even the children if they want to tell us about a particular event. Please use them as much as possible.
There are also ‘Wow’ slips on the notice board by the coat pegs. These are for you, your child, or the Woody’s staff to complete if the children have done something new, or out of the ordinary, or have reached a specific milestone etc. We can share the information with each other, and keep a copy in their profiles at Woody’s.
Suggestion slips are available on the notice board for anyone to complete if they have any suggestions or ideas for the club.
We are issuing all parents and children an evaluation form regarding their time at Woody’s, specific things that you are pleased with, what we could maybe do better, and any other information you wish to provide or comment on. This way we can constantly evaluate our practice to provide the best possible care and experiences at our breakfast and After school clubs!
Finally, we have put a basic information sheet on internet safety, on our notice board for parents and children. It is called ‘SMART’, and most children are aware of it’s meaning, but feel free to have a look when you get a moment. There is also some child friendly information regarding ‘bullying’ on the children’s own notice board at the club for them to read at any time.
We hope that all of the above information is of some use to you all, and hope that you continue to be happy with the care we offer here at Woody’s.
If we can be of any further assistance, please do not hesitate to speak to any one of us at any time.
