Our Staff Team

 

Emma Potter - Emma is the Woody's Breakfast & After School Club Director. She has ultimate responsibility for Woody's. This includes staff recruitment, personnel matters, Ofsted, Health and Safety issues and the general day to day running of the club, including the ultimate welfare of the children.

 

Emma has a vast knowledge of the childcare industry, and over 20 years experience. Emma holds a Level 2 and 3 NVQ qualification in Childcare and Education, along with Paediatric First aid, and also Safeguarding certificates. She is also the joint owner of her own Day Nursery in the Brockhill area of Redditch. www.brockhillbarndaynursery.

Richard Wood - Rich is the co-director of Woody's. He is a qualified football coach, coaching a very succesful youth team in the Midland Junior Premier League, and holds an enhanced DBS certificate. He is a father of four, and relates well to children of all ages. Rich implements all of the sporting activities for the children at the club, both indoors and out.

Rich holds an NVQ Level 2 in Leisure and Tourism, Safeguarding, food hygiene, and Paediatric First Aid Certificates.

Julie Harper - Woody's Manager

Main Qualifications

Level 3 in Children's Care & Learning & Development.

Level 1 - British Sign Language.

Level 2 - Exercise & Physical Activities for children.

Level 2 Diet & Nutrition forhealthy living.

Advanced (Target 2 ) Safeguarding Children. Channel General Awareness - Prevent Duty. Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate. General awareness of child abuse & neglect, CPD Certificate in Special Educational Needs.

Job Role

Julie is the designated Breakfast/After School Club Manager. Her responsibility is to support Emma in her role as Registered Person, and to ensure the safe and effective running of the club which includes; communicating with new and existing parents on a regular basis, carrying out staff supervisions, implementation of all policies and procedures, working within the Early Years Foundation Stage Famework where necessary, and implementing relevant activities and to work as an effective team leader ensuring the children's welfare is paramount at all times.

Knowledge and Experience

Julie has a wealth of knowledge and experience of childcare and development.She has previously worked in out of school clubs and nurseries, and has worked as a volunteer within schools, supporting pupils on a 1-1 basis, including disabled children.

Hobbies and Interests

Julie enjoys bargain hunting for new resources and equipment for the club! She also enjoys reading, walking, and spending time with her family and her own two children.

 

 

 

Angela Cherry - Playworker Volunteer

NVQ Level 3 Children’s Care, Learning & Development, First Aid Level 4 advanced training, Level 2 Food hygiene, Safeguarding children certificate.

Other Relevant qualifications

Level 3 Child Psychology, Level 3 Mental Health support worker, Challenging behaviour in young people, Level 3 Child anxiety and confidence. 

Job Role

Supervising creative activities, preparing snacks, creating displays, whilst interacting with children aged 4 to 14. Angela also deputises if Julie and Rich are absent.

 

 

Ellie Hanna

Main Qualifications

Level 2 & 3 Nursery Nurse & Playworker 

GCSE's - English Language & Literature, Mathematics, Statistics, Science Core and Additional

Job Role

Supervising creative activities, preparing snacks, creating displays, whilst interacting with children aged 4 to 14.

Knowledge and Experience

I am also working at a private day nursery. My duties include, looking after the children and providing for their everyday needs, feeding, toileting, changing nappies, and assisting the staff with activities, designated keyworker, child observations, completing learning journey profiles, and planning for the EYFS curriculum.

Charlotte Khannon

Hobbies & Interests

I enjoy looking after the younger members of my family as they take up some of my time. When I am not at home with my family I enjoy going out and meeting new people as I try my best to be very social with everybody that I come in contact with. When at college or school I enjoy working with a group of people as I feel that a great deal of tasks can be accomplished when working with others. Some of my hobbies consist of being outdoors, cooking or communicating with the younger generations. I enjoy reading a lot of books and socializing with friends.
